Accountability and responsibility are often mistakenly used as synonyms. Accountability extends beyond responsibility and is results-focused and requires action. In your professional life, you might be required to follow up with someone to ensure you are completing your responsibilities. Accountable people are often problem solvers that are responsive and transparent to those around them.
